Modesto Marathon Movie & Wine Night
Event on 2012-02-25 17:30:00

Come get motivated to run, watch or volunteer for the Modesto Marathon, or seek motivation in your own life at the Surgical Artistry Modesto Marathon Wine & Movie Night. Enjoy appetizers from Uno Chicago Grill and Fuzio Universal Bistro, sip some wine and keep the commemorative wine glass, and watch Terry Hitchcock's amazing journey – My Run – on the big screen. Terry's son, Chris, will be on hand for a Q&A with the audience following the movie. There will be drawings for some fabulous prizes in this fund-raiser for the Teens Run Modesto program. After tragically losing his wife to cancer and struggling to raise three young children on his own, Terry Hitchcock seized on an idea: run 75 marathons in 75 days to bring attention to the difficult lives of single-parent families. So at the age of 57, this seemingly "ordinary" man started running, and kept running – each day, every day. His epic journey is documented in the feature film My Run, narrated by Billy Bob Thornton.
